Applying for a Grant
Thanks for your interest in applying for a grant from Nikau Foundation. Our next funding round will be in August 2018 which is a change from previous years and fits in with recent changes our new financial year.
Please note our application process only involves a succinct expression of interest via our website. We do also ask you to send a copy of your latest financials, your annual report (or similar) and a scanned bank deposit slip/bank statement to email@example.com at the same time. If we need more information after this, we will be in touch. Most applications contain enough information for us to make a decision on our grants which are normally $5,000-$10,000.
Applicants should apply to the Nikau Foundation rather than a particular fund as we match applicants to the most relevant fund. The only exception to this is the Roy and Jan Mace Charitable Trust which is a separate form on this page. More information about our funds are outlined below and in our Grant Making Policy – revision April 2018.
Applications are processed in September and October with sign off by the board in late November. Grants will be paid out in December each year by direct credit.
If you miss the grant round, don’t worry! We are constantly talking to donors and other funders throughout the year. If you can’t wait until the next grant round, i.e. you have a time sensitive or urgent request, feel free to apply or contact us and let us know what you are looking for. We might know someone who is interested in your area, be able to suggest other funders or offer other fundraising advice.
